The Craftsman Training Scheme was introduced by government of India in 1950 to ensure a steady flow of skill workers in different trades for the domestic Industries, to raise quantitative Industrial Production by systematic training , to reduce unemployment among the educated youth by providing them employable training , to cultivate and nurture a technical and industrial attitude in the minds of younger generation. The scheme, most important in the field of vocational training , has been shaping Craftsmen to meet the existing as well as future manpower need, through the vast network of ITIs in the state. .

MDPS ITI, established in 1978 by Muslim Dharma Paripalana Sangham at Tirur, Malappuram, Kerala is a premier institute imparting training in different trades under the affiliation of National Council for Vocational Training (NCVT), New Delhi.

MDPS ITI is more than a center of learning and home to a diverse community of innovators and entrepreneurs. In every classroom and practical workshop, you will find unique people who are passionate about learning, teaching and collaborating on groundbreaking technologies.

ITI - NCVT Courses

Craftsman training scheme in Kerala is a joint effort of National Council for Vocational Training (NCVT) under Ministry of Labour - Government of India and Government of Kerala. The training scheme is intended to create skilled technical manpower requirement for various engineering and non engineering departments all over the world. At grass root level engineering technicians are craftsmen who do the actual technical work in engineering workshops and industries. Craftsmen are those who assist engineer in research and development, manufacturing, inspection and maintenance. The ever increasing demand of skilled technicians is existing all over the world.
